Card Not Supported Payment Issues

We have successfully resolved the issues regarding cards not being supported through our normal payment process. Our testing indicates that there should now be no issues with accepting payment via this method and if you are experiencing ongoing issues, this is likely caused by a bank connection issue (they maybe doing maintenance) or insufficient funds being available. If you are certain neither of these issues are happening, please let us know and we will investigate it further.

The cause unfortunately, was made significantly worse by poor communication from the payment gateway and resulted in misinformation being given. Put simply, somehow Primal Desires was classified as providing Adult Services, when in fact we should have been and to our knowledge were, classified as Online Retail. The result meant that our online sales were rejected while our in-person (card present) sales did not have any issues, further creating confusion. It also meant that our ability to accept AfterPay in-person was removed. Now that the classification has been fixed and we are again listed as being Online Retail, both online card payments and AfterPay in-person payment options have been restored.

Our Statement

We apologise for the inconvenience this causes to our customers and their ability to do business with us. This is certainly not something we have much control over or even getting a clear answer on what is causing the issue. We will continue to investigate and monitor the issue and assist with alternate payment methods including PayID, internet bank transfers and Cash On Delivery for locally delivered orders.

Summary

If you get a Card Not Supported error or similar, try using the PayPal option (you don’t need to be logged in or have a PayPal account to use this) or another method as we have activated PayID and Bank Transfer options.
