Non‑Discrimination Policy

One of the key goals of Primal Desires is to provide a user experience that is non-discriminatory by being inclusive wherever possible of all individuals regardless of preferred, assigned or cis gender, sexual choices, race, religion, skin colour, size, physical, mental or emotional abilities (and we won’t forget our alien friends either). In doing this, we also want to ensure an individual’s rights are upheld even if legal terminology or legislation may be behind the times.

We Are All Human

This policy is to reiterate how Primal Desires will engage the community, individuals and organisations in a non-discriminatory way by:

  • To treat all customers, guests, staff, suppliers, contractors, third-parties and other individuals as equals.
  • Correctly using preferred pronouns and gender to identify and communicate with customers, guests, staff, suppliers and other individuals we may encounter.
  • Where possible provide product options that are of preference to an individual including colour, size or shape.
  • Not actively restrict any individual who is of appropriate legal age and consenting (please refer to our Terms and Conditions – 18+ Only / Enthusiastic Consent Policy) and does not breach our terms and conditions or consent.
  • Encourage inclusivity and non-discrimination with our suppliers and third-party providers wherever possible.
  • To not provide active support to any individual or organisation who seeks to be discriminatory in accordance with this policy. We may choose to provide support that encourages an individual or organisation to not discriminate and to make amends by way of apology or compensation to those who may have been harmed or affected by the discrimination.
  • Accept that an individual or organisation may have their own opinion or views which are not aligned to those of Primal Desires and to be discredited provided these do not result in active and / or open discrimination and does not seek to cause harm to any other individual or organisation.
  • Where possible avoid supporting or interacting with suppliers, contractors or third-party providers who provide pricing or level of service that differs due to an individuals perceived or known gender, race, religion, skin colour, size, physical, mental or emotional abilities and instead choose to support and interact with suppliers, contractors or third-party providers who may have justifiable higher pricing or slightly reduced levels of service. In doing so, we hope to at least help level the playing field for these organisations over those who seek to discriminate.
  • Where discrimination has inadvertently taken place and not intended as such despite how it may have come across, provide counselling, understanding and support to individuals and organisations on both sides and assist in reconciliation.
  • Where Primal Desires may have caused discrimination either inadvertently, directly or indirectly where it is within our control, we will offer a public apology to those affected and or harmed and take action to rectify and make amends accordingly.
  • We acknowledge that an individual’s choice of gender or sexuality or decision to exercise their right as an individual is not an affront to the beliefs of any religion(s) and or legislated law(s) and that they may have beliefs and opinions that either align or not align with any religion(s) and or legislated law(s) made by others provided they also do not force or impose these beliefs and opinions on any other individual(s) or organisation(s) without enthusiastic consent from the other party or parties involved, by standing or who may be affected or harmed in some way directly.
  • Acknowledge all indigenous people regardless of their ancestral origins as the traditional owners of their ancestral homelands and country and pay respect to the Elders of indigenous people past, present and emerging. Primal Desire acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional owners of country throughout Australia and on the Turrbal and Jagera peoples’ land on which we operate as well as any other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ land we may operate on at a given point in time and pay respect to the Elders of indigenous people past, present and emerging.

With this said, we acknowledge that mistakes will happen, actions and words may be interpreted in a different manner to how it was intended without any deliberate intentions of exclusion or creating misunderstanding. We are all HUMAN or ALIEN or whatever we choose to be and that this does not make us impervious to fault or suffering and that we should act accordingly.
